I was never keen on painting a portrait of Jesus, because I did not want to detract from the glory of His person. But as I searched for paintings of Jesus, I was very disappointed that there was nothing even close to what I felt in my heart that He should look like. So one day I felt like I need to do this painting. I wanted to show His love, His compassion, and His burden. I don't know if I have succeeded, but I think this painting is touched by His grace. I hope it becomes a painting of inspiration to many people all around the world.
